Southeast Technical College Administration
President Dr. Cory Clasemann
Dr. Cory Clasemann joined Southeast Technical College as President in July 2024. For
more than two decades, he has led initiatives at two- and four-year institutions to
close achievement gaps through improved teaching, learning and retention. Prior to
joining STC, Dr. Clasemann served as Assistant Vice President at the Garner Institute,
Vice President for Student Success at Ivy Tech Community College, Director of Institutional
Effectiveness at the University of Indianapolis and at Creighton University.
Dr. Clasemann’s career has focused on student retention and completion, academic advising
and student support initiatives. At Ivy Tech, he worked with faculty and staff to
implement and scale evidenced-based approaches to increase success and completion
for all students. This work included required advising, 8-week courses and Guided
Pathways, an equity-focused framework for forging clear paths for students and removing
systemic obstacles.
As an independent consultant, Dr. Clasemann worked with K-12 school corporations and
non-profit organizations. He helped develop strategic plans and secure external funding
to supplement large-scale initiatives furthering organizations’ missions.
Dr. Clasemann graduated from the 2021-22 Aspen Institute’s Rising Presidents Fellowship
Program, and, in 2020, he spoke before the U.S. House of Representatives’ What Works
Caucus on the importance of funding evidence-based programs. He has served as president
of the Indiana Association of Institutional Research (INAIR), journal reviewer for
Review in Higher Education and Journal of College Student Development and advisory
board member for the National Community College Benchmark Project (NCCBP) and FindHelp
(formerly Aunt Bertha). He has also adjunct taught for Indiana University and Purdue
University.
Dr. Clasemann has a bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Mass Communication from Creighton
University, a master’s degree in Organizational Management from the University of
Phoenix and a Ph.D. in Higher Education from Indiana University.
